Parse error

I have a slight problem with this PHP script. I'm new to this.

Here's the script. I'm trying to pass the variable jcode=" " from a job_list page.

I am trying to retrieve the value passed but it keeps giving me :
Parse error: parse error, unexpected ':' in ...job_details.php on line 16

parse_url();
$url=parse_url(http://localhost/test/job_details.php? jcode=$jcode);

echo "jcode=$jcode";

// check for missing parameters
if (!$jcode || $jcode == "")
{
header("Location:error.php");
exit;
}

The most obvious problem is that the URL you're trying to parse is supposed to be a string. In other words, it should have quotes " " around it.

And with respect, perhaps you could ask questions like this in a more appropriate forum in future, such as the Coding Help or Newbies forum? I'm not a moderator or list admin here and don't have any authority on the matter, but it is of benefit to everyone to keep these things sorted.
