Converting http://.... to <a href="http://...">http://...

The Subject says it all, I need the (propably very simple) PCRE to convert every Link (so a word beginning with [url]http://[/url] or [url]ftp://[/url]) to a link. Like it is done in this board.
Can anyone help me with this? And if so, could you please quickly explain how the PCRE works?

Go to the code library of this site. Check Others, you will find a really good script nopt only for https but for mail links!!

Thank you, I went to the PHP Manual and searched for preg_replace there was this Regular Expression:
"/((http(s?):\/\/)|(www.))([\w.]+)/i", "<a href=\"http$3://$4$5\" target=\"_blank\">$2$4$5</a>"
Works very fine.
