Email Problem?????

Hi,

I was just wondering if this code his valid. I have a shopping cart site that I am modifying, I had to change the $to email to [e-mail]. But when i process an order it the email doesn't receive it. I have used other email addresses such as hotmail, etc and it works fine. Is there a problem because it is sending from humbernurseries.net and receiving from humbernurseries.net (same server)

I hope someone has encountered this problem before and can help me out. Thanks

You might try address@localhost....

Also, I take it there's no issue with sending mail to your address from a standard mail client, just from PHP?

yeah theres no issue with standard email client, just php. I will try what you suggested and let you know if it works

I am experiencing the same problem in various severities on different servers. Apparently many email servers reject email sent with the mail() function. Road Runner (@.rr.com) is a prime example. I am now working on one that very few people will get the email. If you go here... http://www.metaphorcafe.com/email_test.php and put in your email address, you may or may not receive the email. I have tried every combination of headers I can think of with no good results. (The example link uses no headers)

I hope someone knows how to fix this.

Hmm, getting caught by spam rules? Do you have access to the mail logs for humbernurseries.net? (Probably not, as it's run by intellamail.com...) Perhaps the headers should be modified to match, as closely as possible, those sent successfully....?

Sounds reasonable, however the same headers exist in emails sent to both servers that accepted and those that rejected the email. I have tried to use headers from emails successfully sent from other web servers. I think the rejecting mail servers are all NT. I'll keep trying...

I have found that adding the Return-Path header solves the problem on at least one server. The reason its not working on another server I am working on (I think) is because this server is replacing the value I give for that header with "[e-mail]" So, I'm working them over now! 😃
