How to make a combo box smaller?

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me? Im relatively new to PHP and im trying to print a combo box on a web page. It seems to be making the combo box the size of the largest string of text within it, but i want to know if i can somehow wrap the text so that the combo box isnt so long? Hope this makes sense, thanks!

You can specify the width and font size with css-style but then the whole line doesn't necessary fit to the box.
