Invoking a program via email

Hello,

I want to set up a system where I can associate an email address with a program to be invoked when mail arrives at the associated email address.

My intended application works as follows:

Someone sends an email with an attached picture file to [e-mail]. When the email arrives, an associated program (say, image-hackery.pl) is invoked, processes the attached picture, and either emails the resultant picture back or emails back a web link at which the processed picture can be found.

How do I do this?

I have not had a chance to look at it yet, so don't know how relevant it is, but it may be a starting point.

The info in that article is pretty easy to implement. As long as you have some sort of MTA installed (such as sendmail, qmail, etc.), you shouldn't have any problems.
