apache in linux?

I found out I do have apache installed in Linux, but Ive tried to do , 127.0.0.1 and i got a error saying could not resolve address, and i tried localhost, it started to search Netscape. Do i have to change anything in the dns? Or what do I do,

Installed doesn't mean started :-)
Maybe you did not run httpd or worked "too much" with httpd.conf?

how do i start httpd?

something like this may work through command line, if you are at the comp, you can do it with the gui

/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd start

You can also set apache daemon to start with the system.
Just run program ntsysv and set daemon httpd to start at the beginning after each reboot.
