Fatal error: Allowed memory size

this customer that i have on my ensim server is geting this error every 3 weeks or so ... He run a large forum

I have my tech go into the php site1 to up the memory. right now it sits @ 16 MB's

is there anything i can to stop this error from happen again ?

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 16777216 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 3840 bytes) in /home/virtual/site1/fst/var/www/html/forums/sources/lib/post_parser.php(172) : regexp code on line 1

system total momery is 512MB , i have 11 sites in it / ensim 3.1.4 / 7.2 redhat / PHP Version 4.2.2

What i was told by ensim support:
You need to analyze the code of the script to determine what is going on. If you do not have the skill, then you need to contract with a developer or somebody who does. I don't know any sites that will help you find the problem in the script. Try going to the forums for php. Here are a couple of sites:

I have seen this problem before.

It is a Yabbse problem i think. But whatever the problem is it got fixed by them moving to a dedicated server.

If it is Yabbse then check out the Yabbse site, and upgrade to the newest version.

this server is a ded. server ... and is not yabbse , it's vision Power Board " http://www.invisionboard.com/ "

and every thing is up to date

It is not a truly dedicated server as you have 11 websites on it.

What i mean by dedicated it one server =one site.

I use invasion board too, i have never came across this problem.

The only thing i can think of that will fix it is to upgrade the server to have more memory.

Also you should ask/look on the invasion board forums, it could be a bug in the release you are using. (Is it the latest?)

yes , eerything is up to date ... even ensim ..

i think i found out the problem ...

I have placed a hack in to the forums to resize images if becomes to big to fit ....

I have deleted the hack ... now i just have to wait
