Microsoft SQL Server 2000 ...?

Hi, this sounds dumb I know. I've read a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 book, but it doesn't tell me
1. How to connect
2. How to run my query -- only the query itself
I've tried
mssql_connect(); and that just gives me
Fatal Error: Call to undefined function mssql_connect(); in C:\InetPub\wwwroot\testsql2k.phtml on line 2
Please help

You will also need to uncomment the extension = mssql.dll in the Dynamic Extensions section of your php.ini. If you used the zip to install php you should be set, if you used the windows installer you might have to go find the dll and put it in your extensions directory.
