Probably a newb question, about @

I never really understood what the @ sign is used for.. i've seen many people use it in functions like:

@fopen
@mysql_connect
@isset

etc...

I thought it had something to do with globals but I don't know. Can someone explain this to me or link me to a page about it?

The @ symbol before a function call will suppress any errors that function might return, so they aren't shown to the surfer.
