i've apache as a testing server with php and mysql. However when I start apache it cant find mysql, it looks in wrong folder for .exe file. How can I change the path to the the folder I want.

Why is apache looking for MySQL? They are completely separate.

I have phpdev, if that rings the bell. when i start win2kdev_start
I have a meesage in dos prompt: mysql_nt.exe cant find the file and it shows the path to a different folder not the one where phpdev is installed. i installed foxserver first which is similar application to phpdev then I deleted it so I guess I need to change the mysql config somehow so it looks for bin in phpdev folder not in foxserver which no longer exists.

That's your problem then, those all in one things are a total mess. It's so easy to install and configure these applications individually, it helps to avoid this kind of thing and it makes sure you get the most recent version of each. Try looking for my.ini it should be in your Windows directory, that might hold the path you are looking for.
