Can anyone tell me what is wrong with the next line of code? I get a parse error: expecting , or ;

try this

may be even easier to switch into php mode only when you need the variable, writing all static output in html:

<td><a href="deleteproduct.php?delkey=<?php echo $deletekey; ?>"><img src="/pictures/trash.jpg" border=0 target=_self align="centre"></td> 

also, you don't close the <a> tag, is this on purpose?

personally i'd go for:

echo "<a href=\"deleteproduct.php?delkey=".$deletekey."\">";
echo "<img src=\"/pictures/trash.jpg\" border=0 target=_self align=\"centre\"></a>";
?>
