Cron job not working

I have set a cron jon to execute a mail file

30 lynx -dump http://mysite.com/mail.php

My server API is "Apache"(you can check it by running phpinfo())

if Server API is "CGI" it works , but not working if "apache"

I am using Red hat linux

Please help me

I think the file needs to be a direct link as well

/usr/www/public_html/filename.php or whatever, works for me

00 06 * /usr/local/bin/php /home/###/###/###/crons/logs.inc

What is the syntax for executing a file in every one minute. Please help

Try 'curl'. That is what I have been using.

curl "http://your_url/job.php"

I even have it where I will pipe the resulting html.

curl "http://your_url/job.php" > /var/www/http/results/result_job.html

I think you'd need

0-59/1 0-23 0-7

to run it every minute, search on google and you can probably find it though...

But you really don't want to run a script every minute, if its your own server you may get away with it, but even a few very small 5 min crons we run on a dedicated server can cause problems.

If you are on a fairly standard shared hoster type thing its unlikely they'll let you run a script every hour, let alone every minute.

The only time I've heard of a 1min cron is for a Planetarion (sp? - big online game) LAN...

what I did was in the cron job

/usr/local/jobABCD.sh

now the jobABCD.sh actually runs the php file

jobABCD.sh

#!/usr/bin/bash

/usr/local/php /usr/local/jobABCD.php

This has been working for me pretty good. The only drawback here is you need two files to run one job
1. jobABCD.sh AND
2. jobABCD.php
