Loading dynamic extentions outside of the extentions_dir

I would like to load a dynamic extention but don't have access to the php extentions_dir on the server that I am working on. I can upload the .so but can't get dl() to look in the right place. I have even tried altering an .htaccess so to override the extentions_dir php_ini directive. No go because extentions_dir is a PHP_SYSTEM directive and thus...not alterable with ini_set() or via .htaccess directives.

Unless you have very nice Sys Admin, and we are few and far between 😉, then I doubt it very much! You can only load (dl()) in either the default or set extension_dir.

There is the security issue which is why you probably wouldn't be able to presuade he/she to do this, unless I'm wrong and your the admin, then you can do what ya like 😃

You could always ask for the module to be compiled in/added on.
