Corrupt tables...?

Anyone know what causes this? Bad indexing or what? I've got a 70MB database that just got corrupted somehow and I can't repair it. I'd be pulling my hair out if I didn't shave it

Anyone know how I can fix this?

I've done the "check table table_name".. it came up as corrupt. So I tried "repair table table_name" and it says "Can't open file: 'table_name.MYD'. (errno: 144)"

Bad news: Your Db is dead!

Good news: It can be retrieved!

Unfortunately I can't tell you how to retrieve it, because i don't remember :o :o :o

Basically, if you have access to your webserver, you have to go to the mysql directory, within that there's another directory (maybe tables?) which stores a copy of the db for you.

If you don't have access to the server, just ask the ISP webmaster.

I know this ain't much.

I got it back but it keeps getting corrupted again.. does anyone have any clue why this happens?

That drive could be going bad, or that install of the SQL server has crapped out, or bad RAM, or a few other things. I would check on your SQL server, maybe even get it reinstalled.
