preg_ match a var.

I am trying to match a var. I have looked alot and something like this is what I got =( Well it dont work, anyone got any tips?

preg_match("/\\$name/", $hoho, $match);

instead of:

preg_match("/\\\$name/", $hoho, $match);

try:

preg_match(/"\\\$name/", $hoho, $match);

since the second " is escaped, i think the first one should
be as well.

this won't work, the quote must stay before the delimiter.

okay, what exactly do you want to match? the value of the variable?
would simply be "/$name/"

or a dollar sign, followed by the string 'name'?
should be fine with your approach, or use single quotes to safe one backslash:
'/\$name/'
