I'm trying to sort all employees in a mysql-database. I'm having a bit of trouble with my SQL-query...

$tm_men = "SELECT * FROM initemp WHERE Kjønn="M" GROUP BY Ansattnr";

I'm wondering if I have to write the (Kjønn="M")-part in another way to make it work in php. This is my error message:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /mnt/has/www/oracle/cyrus/stat.php on line 26

It works in mySQL-Front....

generally, when you have doublequotes within a doublequoted string, you have to escape them, otherwise the parser assumes it indicates the and of the string and whatever follows is code. same applies to singlequoted strings.

easier than escaping them is using singlequotes:
$tm_men = "SELECT * FROM initemp WHERE Kjønn='M' GROUP BY Ansattnr";
