two things:

1) when i goto my homepage i have to put http://peatson.co.uk/index.php? why this.

2)trying to do a form which then goes to a handleform.php and get this error:

Your webserver needs to be told to allow index.php as an index page. For Apache you do this using the following directive -

DirectoryIndex index.html index.htm index.php

which can be set in any of the config files but normally in the "httpd.conf".

The problem that you're experiencing with your forms is probably because you do not have globals on in your php.ini.

register_globals = on

or you can use the arrays to access your form vars -

$_POST['FirstName'] or $HTTP_POST_VARS['FirstName'] if PHP<4.1
