I remember the answer ... so don't bother reading further unless you also have the problem ... the answer is to add the IP addresses that will use the server to the hosts file, ours is located in the etc directory.
I've had this problem before and a PHP builder forum user told me how to solve it, but I never wrote it down.
This is the issue:
We have an internal server which we are connected to with an Ethernet. We have a username and password to ftp to it and modify files. The problem is that the connection is really slow, often timing out. Last time I had to make a modification to a file adding my IP address to it so that it immediately resolved who I was and let me connect and modify files immediately. Does anyone know what this file is?
