I am looking for a script (preferably PHP) that sits serverside and automatically POPs (checks) my email account every 20 minutes.

Nope...I'm think of a timed script...every 20 minutes or so.

i know how to create a site that lets you log in and monitor different pop3 accounts....... dont know if thats what you are after though

I'm looking for a script that sits serverside and checks my POP email account every 20 minutes to keep my SMTP open. The host has enabled POP before SMTP which disables my scripting.

You want a cron job (search the forum for details). Write a script that will do check once whenever it's asked, and have a cron job that will run the script every 20 minutes.
