Hi Guys,

Slightly on/off topic - not sure.

Does any one know of a program to manage projects. I need to manage projects, programmers involved, time spent etc.

Any help - particularly points to shareware / freeware appreciated.

Cheers
PaulG

if you have the time i would suggest building your own, i have built one for my company and it was a fun experience, you can get really in depth with this sort of crm package

Yes, a PHP program to manage projects, including doing gnatt charts, and task managment is a project called gforge, available at http://gforge.org/projects/gforge/

It's fairly large to get running, but very good I think

        Thanx guys,

Checked out gforge, but it seems heavy going.

The idea of writing one does appeal tho stolzyboy, so ... any tips on the project layout?

Gforge is pretty heavy going, and it's documentaion on installation is fairly thin. however, I suggest giving it a good try.. I've been impressed. Maybe stolzboy, and you could use bit's of it. Anyway, nice to know my reply was read.

Mr Project came with my distro of mandrake 9.0, and its got gnatt charts and everything, and its free to boot.. but not web based, however i don't know if thats a requirement , TUTOS comes to mind also, all available of sourceforge

Know of any MYSQL ones that do not take over the whole server? Like TUTOS does...
              😉

paulg, i guess it depends on how much information you would like to keep track of, i work for a web development company and they wanted to keep track of client contact information, like name, email, phone, etc, then they wanted to keep track of billable hours so the person doing the billing would see a check by the client that has billable hours, so they know to do them, then i wanted to keep track of ftp information along with any other pertinent information relating to access to the server that domain resided on, woooo, too many words, i may be missing some details in there but i think you get the idea, is this something like what you are trying to do??
