Uploading a Document to MS SQL Database

Ok i know this is big task, what i'm after is a few pointers.

I'm building a basic document management system, i want to be able to let users upload a document to the intranet which would then be stored in MS Sql 2000.

Do i need to upload the file to the server first, or can i post the document straight from a form?

Also what MSSql field type would i use? as i don't know what the file sizes could be would i use the image type?

any pointers or link would be great!!!

ok, so i managed to upload a file to the server, now when i try to insert this binary data to an image type field, i get the following error messages ;

Im nearly on my way to completing this system, just need to figure out how to post to these MSSql Image fields!!!
