Hey folks. I'm currently using MED as my text editor of choice. However, it's PHP syntax highlighter is a bit behind the times. I was about to forge ahead and make an updated one, but I figured I'd ask here first.

Does anyone here use MED? And if so, have you updated it's highlighter at all?

Thanks for any info.

You don't use PHP Coder? With php_dbg?

Of course, this all assumes you're using a PC. 😉

Man underestimates the power of black holes, Indian curry, and vim

        Vim is power.

Heh, thanks for the replies. However, I use MED because of it's Project Management capabilities. VIM is powerful, but any text editor that has online documentation is not worth learning in my books. 😉

There are some excellent manuals in pdf form that you can get from vim.org

Of course any decent text editor is an incredibly poweful and complex piece of software and needs several 200+ page manuals and a lot of time to learn it. What do you think it is for, typing? 😉

As you might be able to tell vi rocks IMHO 😃 😃 😃 😃 😃

Well, yeah. That's what I use MED for: coding/typing and Project Management. It's fast, it was easy to learn, and it suited my needs.

I'm not interested in learning VIM. It would be a waste of effort on my part.

MED has all I need. Regexp search & replace, textlib's, syntax highlighting and customizable toolbars for compilation/decompilation or running whatever program is needed.

I'm sure VIM has these as well, but I downloaded it, played around with it for half an hour, and then promptly uninstalled it. I'm not saying that it's a bad program, it's just not for me.
