write to html file?

I want to know how I can write to a html file? Do I need to set up a database? I am trying to make my own weblog. I wan t a screen that let's me type in my entries and posts them to the html file. Any tutorials that anyone recommends for me to do this? I am just a beginner

You might want to check out fputs and fopen.
