show, hide form fields

I have a form with a set of radiobuttons that correspond to different sections of the remainder of the form. What I would like to happen is that when radio button 1 is select then section 1 becomes visible and section 2 is hidden. Conversely when radiobutton 2 is selected filed 2 should become visible and field 1 will remain hidden. Is this something that can be done with PHP or is there an other solution to this?

i would check out http://javascript.internet.com and use javascript, so it can be done client side, and without refreshing pages and such
