retrieving image from web server subfolder

ok, i'm a newbie with MySql and PHP but i have learned a little bit over the last 2 weeks. i have a problem and i don't know where and how to fix it. for learning purposes i've taken someone's php code for displaying images from a database. it works great although it only works if i have the image in the web server (IIS 5.1) root directory. if i place the image in a subfolder on the server it's not found. i don't know if the code is the problem, or IIS 5.1 or MySql 3.23.

you should be able to use a relative path from the script (to the images) or the full path (either internal or external)....

/home/sites/yousite.com/images/image.jpg
or
http://www.yoursite.com/images/image.jpg
or
../images/image.jpg

..where image.jpg is the result pulled from your database.
