deleting part of an entry

I don't want to delte the entire entry but only the field "image" of that entry.

I use this code but it doesnt' work.

$sql = "DELETE image FROM projekte WHERE ID=$delete";

the "image" has to be place somehwere else at leats it is not working.

if you just want to clear the image column, use

$sql = "UPDATE projekte SET image="" WHERE ID='$delete'";
