an offical list of the formal names of the countries

Does anyone have an list of the formal official names of the countries (most current)?

Or any links I can get this list?

I want to use it to build up a drop down menu for countries.

If I can get it in html format and pure text list (so I can exmport it to Excel.) that will be great!
