putting buffer on and redirection

ok i want my php page to redirect to a different page after it has finished doing some code
but i hear u can only redirect at the beginning of the page.. beginning of the code.. so how can this be done?
i tried using JavaScript redirection to fix this problem, but when it redirects, it doesn't reload the page but uses a cached? or previous version of the page
how do i get it to redirect or refresh the page i want it to go to?

are you outputting anything on this page?

If not, you can put your redirect header right down the bottom after doing all your stuff up the top, there are no problems with doing that.

e.g

<?

do php stuff here
some more stuff here
db queries, inserts, deletes etc here

all done...

Header("Location: thankyou.php");

?>

Have you tried echo out this?

echo'<META HTTP-EQUIV="REFRESH" CONTENT="1; url=whatever.php">';
