master detail page

Hy.

I wanna know how can i make a master detail page in php. For better understanding i will explain my problem:

i have a mysql db with the fields name,address etc. When i click an entry of the name field i want to display a page with all others fields from my database.
How i make the connection bettwen the field entry and the page. How i transmit the parameter.
I know that the statment should be somethink like <a href="masterdetailpage.php........................."

but the rest of it i dont know it.

Usually in this case I will create the link with a ?a=parameter and do a SQL query on the second page pulling against this paramenter.

1st page: <a href=masterdetailpage.php?a=$uniqueVariable>Go Here</a>

2nd page: $query = "SELECT * from TABLE where SOMETHING = '$uniqueVariable'";

Actually, that would be
$query = "SELECT * from TABLE where SOMETHING = '$a'";
