Possible to tell when user hits back or refresh?

Is it possible to tell in php when a user has hit the back button or the refresh button? I don't want to disable them, but I do want different actions to occur if I can determine which button the user clicked to navigate to the next page.

I don't think that's possible since these are actions performed on the client side. If you really want to, I think you could make a JavaScript that execute a website based on different actions.

If you just want to know if a user watch the page more than one time, the solution for you would be to use sessions.
