SQL Error, WHY?

Hi All

Here is my error below:

CREATE TABLE agentProfiles (

AgentID INT NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT PRIMARY KEY ,
age INT,
birthplace VARCHAR,
backround VARCHAR,
accomplishments VARCHAR,
hobbies VARCHAR,
weaknesses VARCHAR
)

MySQL said:

You have an error in your SQL syntax near ' backround VARCHAR, accomplishments VARCHAR , hobbies VARCHAR , `weaknesse' at line 1

What is wrong with my SQL code? I even tried to not do it manually but through the phpMYadmin interface and I still got this error.

With VARCHAR fields you have to set a maximum length of up to 255 characters. This is done after the VARCHAR, e.g.:

'birthplace' VARCHAR(200),

I would get rid of the single quotes around all of your names, and add the lengths for all your varchar columns. Like this for example:

CREATE TABLE agentProfiles (

AgentID INT NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT PRIMARY KEY ,
age INT,
birthplace VARCHAR(25),
backround VARCHAR(100),
accomplishments VARCHAR(100),
hobbies VARCHAR(25),
weaknesses VARCHAR(25)
)
