mysql ! loop and delete old data

🙂 okie basically what i want to be able to do .. is have a loop so it will display say around 5 of the last records in a mysql table where userid='$uid' also delete old records could someone help me here ? its for a private messaging thing im doing , thankyou for ppl that can help
