ignoring returns in a .txt file!

Hi, I am using php to write to a text file and it is then read into flash. I want to write the .txt file like this -

&link0=google&url0=http://www.google.com&count0=0
&link1=yahoo&url1=http://www.yahoo.com&count1=0
&link2=realitydesigns&url2=http://www.realitydesigns.co.uk&count2=0
&link3=actionscript.org&url3=http://www.actionscript.org&count3=0
&link4=kirupa&url4=http://www.kirupa.com&count4=0
&finished=okay&

But because I have returned after each line, it will not work. If I write it all in one line like this it works fine: -

&link0=google&url0=http://www.google.com&count0=0&link1=yahoo&url1=http://www.yahoo.com&count1=0&link2=realitydesigns&url2=http://www.realitydesigns.co.uk&count2=0&link3=actionscript.org&url3=http://www.actionscript.org&count3=0&link4=kirupa&url4=http://www.kirupa.com&count4=0&finished=okay&

Is there anything I can put after each row that will correct this? I have read something about adding something like this but It does not work-

&link0=google&url0=http://www.google.com&count0=0\c

Any info would be much apreatiated

why not do something like:

$link = "&link0=google&url0=http://www.google.com&count0=0 
";
$link = $link."&link1=yahoo&url1=http://www.yahoo.com&count1=0";
$link = $link."&link2=realitydesigns&url2=http://www.realitydesigns.co.uk&count2=0";
etc etc

echo "<a href=\"$link\">The link</a>";

Hi, thanks for the reply!

I am reading each line into a flash document, so it needs to be a text file! Or does it? correct me if I am wrong.

I have it set in flash that if i need to add another link, i just simply edit the .txt file and it's all done!

I just wanted to return each line in the .txt file because it is allot easy for me to manage that way! and also i am trying to get a count for each link which will be saved via php to The same .txt file! - see this post - http://www.phpbuilder.com/board/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10229320

I got it working with the .txt file. I just put another - '&' at the end. seems to work fine! (here is an example, incase someone else has the same problem!) i.e -

&link0=google&url0=http://www.google.com&count0=0&
&link1=yahoo&url1=http://www.yahoo.com&count1=0&
&link2=realitydesigns&url2=http://www.realitydesigns.co.uk&count2=0&
&link3=actionscript.org&url3=http://www.actionscript.org&count3=0&
&link4=kirupa&url4=http://www.kirupa.com&count4=0&
&finished=okay&

If there is a simpler way please let me know!

All I need now is the php script to write to only the count variable and I will be very happy!
