need some help with a search

I have been working on some code to get code out of a table through a few rules. First that it has to be got from $cat, so if the categry in the database isn't the same as the variables, well I will show you the code

I can't see anything wrong, could you please tell me what I am doing wrong and possibly rewrite the code so it works? thanks

you set
$Review and then you used $review
i dont know if that makes a diference but try it.
i'd do it somewhat different though..

the diference is that my code is all inside the php script... i think that having part of the code outside doesnt work, specialy with that 'while'

Ehm..

$query = $sql = 'SELECT * FROM releases WHERE 1 AND cat = '$cat' AND Filmgame_name LIKE '%$string%' LIMIT 0, 30';

There's something strange about this sql: WHERE 1 AND
What is 1?

And why the backticks around the table names?
A suggestion:
$query = 'SELECT * FROM releases WHERE cat = '$cat' AND (Filmgame_name LIKE '%$string%') LIMIT 30';

And you must end the while loop with a }

well it is working with your code and some editing on my part, just one more quick question, how can I limit $Review to print the first 200 charaters of that field?

I'm only a noob, so take this with a grain of salt, but you can define review, then redefine it and limit it to the first 200 characters.

$Review	= $myrow["Review"];
$Review = substr("$Review", 0, 200);

then ehco or print $Review

Can probably be done easier, but FWIW.
