need to get rid of the frame

I have a frame at the side of my website with pictures on it. When I click on to the pictures, it comes up in the main frame. That works ok. The problem I'm having is that I want to click on a link in the main to go to another website, but the side frame stays!!
How do I "refresh" the page so the frames disappear.
