How to set up a Secure HTTPS connection

Does anybody know how to setup a secure HTTPS connection? Do I have to use PHP or is it a Apache thing?, Please help me

Hmmm...

https is an apache thing, but php provides some encryption functionality with the mcrypt and mhash libraries.

But I haven't tested any of the php-crypto stuff, so I'm not sure about functionality, saftety and such.
