Hello,

Is it possible for me to do something like

http://www.test.com/test.gif?affid=1000

and track how many times that gif is being loaded from a specific affid and the referrer sites?

I know how to do this if it loading a php page (i.e. http://www.test.com/test.php?affid=1000) but is it possible to track this if it's loading a gif file?

Any help would really be appreciated.

your webserver is probably already tracking this via weblogs. if you are using apache, check your /logs directory. it will list every http request of your website. you could write a simple script to parse the log file and have it look for specific file accesses.
