Searching a html file

Ok i made a screw up, now i have to search HTML files on a keyword or phrase search.

Is it gonna be very hard?

If so then i could put the HTML file into a DB and search the DB, but if possible i would want to search the HTML file. Perhaps the DB way would be better as i could the stip the HTML tags so people cold not search for <BR> so somming...

I dunno. Any help will be greatly apreciated.

Try something like this:

$open = fopen($file,'r');
$content = fread($open,filesize($file));

// let's strip the html tags
$content = strip_tags($content);

// let's do the search
preg_match_all("#($search)#",$content,$match);

echo "<pre>\n";
print_r($match);
echo "</pre>\n";

// I am NOT sure that this will work, since I haven't tested it!
