gettin pretty stressed!

I'm finding that iis will only read file in the wwwroot directory. if I put them in a file, say admin, and call that from the browser

\localhost\admin\filename

it won't open it, previously I've got by this by just having my whole program in the wwwroot folder but I'm going to have to install phpMyadmin and don't fancy putting it all in the one file. I'm thinking I just havn't configured iis properly, can anyone help??

configure your "admin' directory to be a virtual directory? if memory serves, in the IIS snap-in, right click your website and go through the Add Virtual Directory wizard thingy.

that seems kinda dumb, anything you put under the web root directory should be parsed with the webserver

you were pretty much bang on, just had to enable directory browsing on my website on iis.

thanks a lot!! I've been pulling my hair out all week over that!!
