[pre] please

i would like a simple tag that can accept preformatted text...

many sql table examples go unformatted...

and using code and php tags put 6 extra lines around what you want.. which isn't very stylish

is there a special reason why pre tags were decided against?

all i want is for there to be an option which replaces [pre] with <pre> so i know it can be done... ive always wondered why this stype board didn't come with it automatically

my current sig requires white space and i have to use [ code ] around it which makes it rather more tall than i would have liked... and prefixes iut with 'code'

now since it only bothers me that my sig is slightly larger than i wish, i realize this is not a life or death thing. but it would be a happy addition if in next round of fixup this got on your list or quick things to implement

Better? Now I know why they never added the pre tag... there's no wrap.

yes, the lack of line wrapping definitely sucks sometimes, but everyone must have got used to it by now since the &#091;php] tags have the same effect 🙁
