While MySQL or some form of database would be ideal, no you don't need a database to make a login forum. I take that back, you will need some form of database. But if you dont' have anything installed, then you could just use a .txt file. I am sorry that I can't give you any code (I don't know how to do it myself off the bat) but I know it is possible. You will need to use the file() functions though. Does nebody with more experience than I care to give our friend here a quick tutorial?
