Database relations

I have a database with a table (products) y the next fields:
- code
- name
- picture
- instruccions
- bigpicture
- family (type of product)

A lot of products have the same family, therefore, is better to make another table with the code and the family and delete the field family in the products table?

But each product HAS a family, right? So there's not much difference where you're keeping the data; AAMOF, it might be easier to construct queries if they're all in the same table. I'm not too up on database theory, but it seems the only reason to have a seperate table would be if a lot of the products in table one were gonna have NULL entries for "family".

Anyone know otherwise?

Put the fields in another table, I think that is for have the information more order.
