I have a client which wants me to set up a store locator for their site. They have a current implementation which searches based on zip code, but the calculations are based on latitude/longitude coordinates from the center of the zip codes. This results in slightly inaccurate calculations because not everyone lives at the very center of the zip code they are entering. I would like to base the new search on a user's street address and zip code like at http://www.dominos.com The only service I was able to find was Mapquest's Locator service at http://www.mapquest.com/solutions/product.adp?page=mqlocator but at $3900 it's not very cost effective. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to get this type of data more affordably? Does anyone have any advice on a solution for a more accurate store locator?
