Hey, I'm currently using Coranto to run a music review site at http://ymv.vze.com but I'm looking at expanding the site and would rather use a mysql db to store data as it's quicker.
This is a quick outline of what the site would require for it's backend
- Categories:
Albums, Singles, Film Clip Reviews, Concert Reviews, Featured News
(please note I'm also using the system to post charts and category lists etc on other pages so the latest content is always on almost all the sites pages, so categories such as Charts and category lists would need to be included too. Also, user levels would need to be in place so only certain users/user levels can post to certain categories/even know they exist)
- Sub categories (or filtered fields):
rock, pop, rnb, dance, etc
(these are to help sub categorise albums, singles, concert reviews, film clips)
event, gossip, special presentation etc
(these are for the news part of the site)
Basically I'm after a CMS that can be highly customised and run efficiently. Unfortunately Coranto just isn't efficient enough to do what I please... as in the future it would be creating way too many files for the content.
In addition to this, I also want to have things cross-reference-able, for example, if someone brought up a review on Britney Spears, automatically all available content on her would produce itself in a list.
The sections of the site will be color coded, however I plan to take care of producing the graphics/front end all myself.
The site needs to be searchable (as it is in it's current state) and i'd really like the facility for people to upload cd covers themselves (currently I'm doing it by FTP and then editing reviews to add the image) i found an upload script called PhpCommander.v.2.2 but id like it built into the system.
Well that's about as much as I can remember/come up with for now. I'm not sure how complex all this would be to do, but that's why I'm posting here. I can pay only a small amount to the person that does this as my site is totally non-profit and I myself am only a poor student. I'd be willing to help the coder with any of their projects anyway I can as payback.
If there is already a script out there I can use for this, please let me know and I'll just customise that (i have tried PostNuke but thought it was too cluggy, too slow, and too limited) I dont want to be limited to that sort of template system, I like calling content on as I please on pages I've made already (unless its the review or new item itself, then that can be based on a template)
One last thing, I want people to be able to submit content that can be put in an approval list.
Thanks, Trent.
