Suggest Me on this issue

Hi
I am developing web pages with site search features using php /mysql , which was running in Apache server. I am at end of that project. Now client says me that our web server will be in Window 2k running IIS .
How much reliable if I install php and mysql running on win2k.

Or have to code on which Microsoft understands.

I would appreciate some suggestions.

have heard that iis/php/mysql shouldn't be used on a live server, too many quirks and instability, if you have to use win2k, try to get them to use apache instead of iis

the client had some other things for which they need IIS .'n there are some sensitive data too.>>> I think have to read bill's visual basic lang. to code all in asp my god..... what to do

you should probably get the asp book by wrox, it is a good book if you need to learn asp quick

Fight back!

Don't let them windows-guys drag you down with them - argue your case, and make them use unix and apache.
The combination of *nix/apache/php/mysql is one of the most tested and reliable combinations of software there is.
Equally, there are loads and loads of cases on the net proving that windows is a bad choice when it comes to servers.

IMHO it's the other progs that have to justify their demand of windows as a platform, and you should at least try to look at the possibilities for switching them to the existing platform before you give in 😉

Yes I had tried my best for convincing them... but the thing is they have banking s/w which is still in progress in Linux platform ,, so these man needs server in win2k
