Image map will not work....stumped

Can anyone help me out here. I have a php file that at the end, it calls an html file with an image map but the image map will not work.

snip from the php file

$_SESSION["variables"] = array();
include("bottom.html");
?>

bottom.html file

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

works fine for me 🙂 2 things it might be:

1) does the image map work fine if you just load bottom.html on its own?

2) does the include actually include da file?

If I load just the bottom.html file in the browser, the image map works fine but if I load the php file with the include, it pull up the bottom.html file fine but without hyperlinks.

I've run across a similar problem, though with images. What happens is it points to another directory, thereby breaking some of your content. Check this out, roll over your image and see where things are pointing. If that's your issue, make a symlink to the folder that stores the pages and graphics to wherever it's pointing you.

kilbey1, I can not due to the fact that NO hyperlinks show.
It is almost as though they are just not there.
BUT
when I bring the bottom.html file up on its own in the browser, it works fine and the hyperlinks show and work.

Ah, I see. Have you checked your html code in bottom.html? How about making bottom.html php instead, by naming it bottom.php, then

<? //bottom.html
?>

?>

Why? I have found including php files works better for me than including html, because the php tends to want to interfere with the included html file.

I bet it's interpreting the <> tags as php ends and starts somewhere.

OK, I figured it out.
It was a totally dumb thing. What was happening was that there was a image map call at the TOP of the page, and also at the bottom.
I had both maps named the same which you can not do.

I have renamed the bottom map and all is working now.
Sometimes it is just the simplest things that are overlooked.
