A Better Search

I Have a tipical db search using LIKE %% to get match accordingly
But if I Want to list aa serch with the letter b to get result in that order ie.
BATS
BOYS
BRAINS

It Wont Work
It Will List in any order

With Results Like
Lamb
Stable
Cabs

Is there a way to match up I guess would be if one letter was enter match up the fist letters, If 2 Letters was entered match up the first two letters and so on and aso to allow for "FIND" Searching when a worsd is embeded in quoats
