searching every table

Hi,

I'm setting up a search engine for a site I'm developing. This site uses about 25 different tables for its content and the ONE search field needs to search every field of every record in every table.

I just want to know if there's a good way to set up something like this or whether I would have to query every single table or even worse, joing all 25 tables? 🙂

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

This should be a huge clue that you need to rethink your db design.
