Authentification???

Does anyone have and example of authentification, as i have been trying to build a user managment system, but have stumbled on the part that you have to log in, and then if you have logged in the page knows and you can view the page, but if you arnt logged in or have been in active for an hour then when you try and view that page again you will have to re login. Can anyone shed some light on the problem?

Well I can at least point you in the right direction. You should check out PHP's session handling functions (http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.session.php).

Basically, when a user logs in, you create a session with a unique session id for each user. And when the user logs out, that session is destroyed. You can also set the timeout for a session, so that the session is destroyed after 60 minutes or so....

yes i did but some of the examples seemed too complex, and some just made no sense.
