Why not use any of the built-in function (ie aspell or pspell)? pspell isn't available under windows (according to the documentation), but I guess aspell ought to be since it doesn't say anything else.

It sure is. It's included with PHP, but please notice that apsell is obsolote and is said only to work with old configs. pspell on the other hand might be the right thing. The disadvantage with this is that you have to add it at compile time, with the flag [FONT=courier new]--with-pspell[=dir][/FONT]. This is only available under Un*x platforms, and of course you need to download and install pspell aswell..
